At Liberton High School, our learners study a range of subjects throughout the Broad General Education (S1-S3).
In S3, all learners continue to study English and Mathematics, and they also receive the national entitlement of:
Personal and Social Education (1 period per week)
Religious and Moral Education (1 period per week)
Physical Education (2 periods per week)
Pupils then choose a further 6 subjects. Pupils are encouraged to choose one subject from each of the areas (sections) on the right:
Social Studies
Languages
Expressive and Creative Arts
Technologies
Science
One additional choice (From any curricular area)
All pupils will receive a coursing interview with their House Pupil Support Lead (PSL) to discuss their planned pathway. Their PSL will support them to select the subjects that best meet their needs.
Every young person’s needs are different, and this will result in different combinations.
